FROM THE TRAVEL GROUP (Submitted by Geri Sparkes)
Agawa Canyon Adventure Did you know that Sault Ste Marie promotes itself as Ontario’s Premier Outdoor Adventure Town? Six members of the Probus travel group, who took a 3-night/4-day Agawa Canyon tour with Cardinal Lakeshore Tours in early October and stayed in the Water Tower Inn in the heart of Sault Ste Marie, can attest to the fact that “the Sault” and surrounding areas do indeed offer many great adventurous activities, as well as great food and entertainment. Here are a few highlights from our fabulous short getaway: Pic 1: View from Car 6 as our train rounded one of the many loops Pic 2: One of many breathtaking views from Agawa Canyon heading to Agawa Canyon Park Lookout which is reached by climbing 300 + steps Pic 3: Geri Sparkes & Jo Anne Thackeray attempting to take off Pic 4: Geri Sparkes & Pat Bayus standing at the very edge of from the Canadian Heritage Bushplane Centre! Lake Superior. Just visible in the background is one of the many cargo ships that traverse the lake daily bringing goods to and from the US. Pic 5: Enjoying a drink and some entertainment after a delicious meal in the dining room of the Water Tower Inn. |
